After a long career involving research into the various forms of iron found in human tissues, Pat decided to devote some of her time in retirement to helping haemochromatosis patients.
She has been secretary of Haemochromatosis International for several years and also help out where she can at EFAPH. Her scientific background enables Pat to write and assess articles and she also prepares Hemonews (the EFAPH newsletter) with EFAPH colleagues.
Although her help is indirect and behind-the-scenes, Pat has made a valuable contribution towards advancing the awareness of, and the provision of effective therapies for haemochromatosis.
