Brigitte was diagnosed with haemochromatosis after a long period of fatigue in 1992. She started volunteering with the Parisian Haemochromatosis association from its creation in 2004 doing secretarial and administrative work for 5 years. She then got involved at the national level when the Fédération Française des Associations de Malades de l’hémochromatose (FFAMH) was created in 2006 and has been its President since 2012.
Brigitte’s personal experience as a patient and her regular contacts with specialists in haemochromatosis enable her to represent the patient community very well.
